Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall
National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall
Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall was built by the Republic of China government to commemorate the late President Chiang Kai-shek. It is the largest of all memorial structures dedicated to him.
The hall covers approximately 15,000 square meters and is situated on the eastern side of the site, facing west. It stands atop a three-tiered platform that is 14.5 meters high. The main structure rises 24 meters, with the roof and pinnacle reaching a total height of 70 meters.
The grand bronze doors are 16 meters tall and weigh 75 metric tons. Inside, the upper level houses a grand hall with a 6.3-meter-tall seated bronze statue of Chiang Kai-shek, weighing over 21 tons and cast by artist Chen Yi-Fan. The statue sits atop a 3.5-meter-tall base, bringing the total height to 9.8 meters.
The lower level includes an auditorium, exhibition rooms, classrooms, and a central corridor for public access and cultural events.
