Yunlin Xiluo Bridge
Yunlin Xiluo Bridge
Xiluo Bridge is a highway bridge in Taiwan, formerly known as the Zhuoshui River Bridge during the Japanese colonial period. It spans the lower reaches of the Zhuoshui River, connecting Xizhou Township in Changhua County on the north side with Xiluo Township in Yunlin County on the south. The bridge features a Warren truss design and serves as an important transportation link between the two regions.
When it was completed in 1952, the Xiluo Bridge was the second longest bridge in the world after the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, USA. It was also the longest bridge in Taiwan at the time and was hailed as the “Number One Bridge in the Far East.”
